Janitor - Environmental Hygienist

Monday- Friday 7:30am - 11:30am Environmental Hygienists are responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing the scope of work for the assigned building. Some duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant, cleaning bathrooms, and emptying trash cans or recycling bins.

Essential duties:

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them Clean windows and mirrors Clean and supply restrooms Remove waste and empty trash Maintain cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies Organize janitorial storage areas Notify supervisors about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance Other duties as assigned work well idependetally

Working Conditions Environment:

Indoor and outdoor environment; driving a vehicle to conduct work; fast-paced work; constant interruptions; noise from equipment operation; work around or with mechanical equipment; work with or exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, and sprays

Minimum Qualifications Training, Education and Experience:

Any combination of education, training, military and/or experience equivalent to a high school diploma

Licenses and Other Requirements:

Valid Driver's License Physical Requirements:

Consistent mental alertness; standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time; lift and carry light to moderate weight objects, occasionally more than 75 pounds; push/pull exerting force to approximately 30 pounds, occasionally 75+ pounds; climbing up and down ladders and stairs; bending and twisting at waist and neck; crouching and crawling; kneeling and bending at the waist, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; dexterity of both arms and hands, and fingers while operating equipment and cleaning; seeing to read, write, and to perform duties; hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone
