POSITION TITLE
JCHS Head Softball Coach
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of bachelor's degree with a teaching license. Must be employed as a full-time teacher within Johnson County School System, attain employment with Johnson County Schools, or hold a valid Tennessee teaching license.
REPORTS TO
Principal and/or Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Softball season and off-season work
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead the JCHS Softball program and be responsible for the oversight of the program and all related duties (stipend in addition to teacher salary). Coordinate with the Athletic Director, Principal, and Supervisor to provide the best athletic opportunities for student-athletes. Promote a positive culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and student growth. Organize and supervise practices, games, conditioning, and offseason development activities. Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner. Effectively communicate with players, guardians, administration, and community stakeholders. Assist with the upkeep, organization, and general maintenance of the softball field and related facilities. Ensure compliance with all TSSAA rules, school board policies, and school procedures.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
