Job Title:
Maintenance Electrician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment, including a mix of newer and older CNC machines. You will work in an industrial environment, not in construction, and take ownership of electrical repairs on machines equipped with controls such as Fanuc and Mitsubishi. The position requires strong electrical skills, hands-on experience with PLCs and I/O, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Repair and maintain all production machines, including Fanuc, Mitsubishi, CNC, and Doss equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable operation. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues on both new and older CNC machines using PLCs, I/O, and related control systems. Perform advanced electrical work in an industrial setting, including wiring, panel work, and repairs on systems up to at least 480V. Use PLC troubleshooting techniques to identify faults, interpret ladder logic, and resolve control system problems. Work with I/O systems to verify signals, identify faulty components, and restore proper operation of machine controls. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to plan and execute repairs and modifications. Perform wiring, re-wiring, and connection of electrical components and systems in accordance with safety standards and best practices. Inspect, test, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment to ensure proper function and compliance with applicable codes. Utilize experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs to support troubleshooting and repair activities on automated equipment. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to prioritize work, communicate equipment status, and support continuous operation. Document work performed, including repairs, parts used, and changes made to electrical or control systems. Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending electrical or control system enhancements. Optionally apply knowledge of Siemens controls and robotics (where applicable) to support additional troubleshooting and repair tasks. Essential Skills Strong industrial electrical ability, including safe work practices on systems up to a minimum of 480V. Hands-on experience with PLCs, including troubleshooting and fault finding on automated equipment. Proficiency with I/O systems, including diagnosing input and output issues on control systems. Demonstrated skill in electrical troubleshooting for complex machinery in an industrial environment. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Experience with wiring, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems on production equipment. Journeyman-level electrical expertise, supported by a journeyman electrician or equivalent experience. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and related control hardware. Ability to work independently on night shift and make sound decisions when troubleshooting equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Journeyman Electrician card is preferred. Experience working with Fanuc-controlled equipment. Experience working with Mitsubishi-controlled equipment. Familiarity with Siemens control systems is a plus. Prior experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC machines in an industrial setting. Comfort working with robotics or automated systems is beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing electrical issues. Good communication skills to coordinate with maintenance and production teams. Willingness to train on first shift before moving to third shift. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is for third shift, working from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with one opening available. Initial training lasts approximately three weeks on first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The facility is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable indoor work setting. You will work in an industrial environment focused on production equipment and automated systems, using tools and technologies such as PLCs, CNC machines, Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls, Allen-Bradley hardware, and potentially Siemens systems. The role requires adherence to standard industrial safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and maintenance setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Otsego, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $77000.00/yr. Pay is competative and they will give a$1.50 shift premium on both 2nd and 3rd shift, also promote from within so there is plenty of room to grow.
