Journeyman Lineman, 5 Years Experience as Line Worker & CDL Class A Required 9 Wilson Avenue, Bath, NY 14810 $105,000 a year - Full-time $105,000 a year - Full-time Journeyman Lineman Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. ("SREC") is a member-owned electric utility located in Bath New York. SREC has been dedicated to providing electric distribution services and energy-saving programs to the Finger Lakes Region of New York since 1944 and Western New York since 1969. Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative distributes dependable power to over 6,500 meters and maintains over 1,100 miles of primary distribution line throughout Steuben, Schuyler, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties. SREC is governed by a Board of Directors that is comprised of 9 members. SREC is accepting applications for a Journeyman Lineman position. Bryant S. Dillon, 9 Wilson Avenue, Bath, New York 14810. Primary Responsibilities Engaged in any type of construction, operation or maintenance on distribution lines and associated equipment. Apply safety rules and regulations as they apply to line substation and service work. Installs, inspect and repair poles, conductor, transformers, meters, hardware, and other equipment on or near energized and de-energized lines in keeping with the appropriate specifications. Respond to outages to investigate, locate, analyze, correct faults, and restore service on distribution equipment. Perform line switching, including switching at a transformer or automatic air-switch station. Reviews plans and specifications. Inform supervisors of equipment and materials required to complete jobs. Trains other crew members in construction of electrical distribution systems. Performs basic maintenance on equipment. Other responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Class A New York State Commercial Driver's License. Ability to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week with overtime as needed.
