Journeyman Plumber / Plumbing Division Lead Overview We are primarily seeking a Journeyman Plumber who is interested in helping start and grow a plumbing division within our company. This is a strong opportunity for a skilled plumber who wants more than just another field position and is ready to take ownership, help build systems, support future hiring, and play a key role in expanding a new division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction plumbing, service plumbing, and plumbing system installation, maintenance, and repair. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a solid understanding of local codes and safety standards. This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, can work independently, and is interested in helping develop a successful plumbing department from the ground up. Responsibilities Help launch and grow a new plumbing division within the company. Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans to determine plumbing requirements. Perform pipe threading, assembly, layout, installation, and related plumbing tasks. Use hand tools, power tools, and applicable equipment safely and effectively. Collaborate with construction teams, project managers, and other trades to complete projects efficiently. Provide field service support for plumbing repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance needs. Perform routine maintenance checks and identify potential plumbing issues before they become major problems. Assist with remodels and new construction projects by tying new plumbing systems into existing structures. Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Help establish processes, standards, material needs, and best practices for the plumbing division. Potentially assist with training or mentoring future plumbing team members as the division grows. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Plumber license preferred or required depending on local regulations. Proven experience in construction plumbing, service plumbing, or both. Strong understanding of plumbing systems, installation methods, maintenance, and repair. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability. Basic math skills for accurate measurements, layout, and calculations. Previous construction site experience is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required. Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus. Carpentry, maintenance, or remodeling experience is beneficial. Valid driver's license required; commercial driver's license preferred but not mandatory. Leadership mindset and interest in helping build a plumbing division from the ground up. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a motivated Journeyman Plumber who wants to take the next step in their career. We are looking for someone who can perform high-quality plumbing work while also helping shape the future of a new plumbing division. This person should be dependable, organized, code-conscious, and comfortable taking initiative. Why Join Us? This is a unique opportunity to get in early and help build something. You will have the chance to contribute directly to the growth of a plumbing division, work on a variety of projects, and be part of a company that values skilled tradespeople who take pride in their craft.
