Job Description

Junior Accountant Job Description We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for early‑career accounting professionals who are eager to grow, develop their skills, and contribute to a high‑performing finance department. The responsibilities listed below represent the core duties of the position; however, additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations. Complete accurate data entry and maintain proper documentation in accordance with established recordkeeping policies. Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes. Prepare and submit journal entries with appropriate documentation and approvals. Review and verify the accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, and other accounting documents. Assist in preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders, including financial statements and audit-related materials. Respond to financial inquiries from internal departments, vendors, and the public. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and financial regulations. Support audit preparation by providing required documentation and reports. Demonstrate strong attention to detail, professionalism, and accuracy in all work performed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, month‑end processes, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Solid understanding of GAAP principles (preferred). Familiarity with fund accounting or governmental accounting systems is a plus. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills. Ability to focus on repetitive or detailed tasks for extended periods. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Willingness to work extended hours during audits or fiscal year‑end closeouts when necessary.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Desire to pursue a Master's in Accounting is preferred. CPA license or interest in obtaining one is a plus. 1-2 years of accounting experience; governmental accounting experience is a bonus. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Yeehaw, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr. $10,000+ Annual Insurance Allotment used to purchase health, life and miscellaneous other insurance products offered by employer
