Job DescriptionJob Description Position Summary Willie C. & Sons Landscaping is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team. This role will support the accounting and finance department with daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll support, reporting, and administrative accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, especially during peak landscaping and snow operations seasons. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Vendor Management Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices Prepare weekly check runs and electronic payments Maintain vendor files and W-9 documentation Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and account status Accounts Receivable & Collections Assist with customer invoicing and billing processes Apply customer payments and maintain accurate account records Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections efforts Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing questions Financial Recordkeeping Maintain accurate financial records and data entry within accounting systems Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation Organize and maintain accounting files and records Payroll & Administrative Support Assist with payroll processing and employee time tracking verification Support onboarding paperwork and payroll setup for new hires Maintain confidentiality of employee and company financial information Assist with filing, reporting, and administrative office duties as needed Reporting & Compliance Prepare internal financial reports and spreadsheets Assist with audits and tax preparation documentation Help ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures Support budgeting and expense tracking efforts Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial practices Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar systems preferred Ability to handle confidential information professionally Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Experience Construction, landscaping, or service industry accounting experience Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping software Familiarity with job costing and project-based accounting Experience working in a seasonal business environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, & vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company
