About Maven Meals Maven Meals is a prepared meal delivery company on a mission to make wholesome, delicious food accessible to busy people across the Puget Sound. Every week, we produce hundreds of fresh, chef-crafted meals for our customers•and our kitchen team helps makes it all happen. We work hard, we take pride in our food, and we genuinely enjoy showing up for each other. The Role We're looking for a motivated, hard-working Junior Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This is a hands-on, learn-as-you-go position•a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for food and wants to build real kitchen skills alongside an experienced crew. You don't need to be a seasoned culinary professional. What we need is someone eager to get their foot in the door, willing to roll up their sleeves, and ready to work hard in a fast-paced environment. You'll be paired with our experienced prep team and will assist with every stage of bulk meal production•measuring, gathering, washing, prepping, and cooking ingredients at scale. This Is Not a Typical Kitchen Job If you're expecting a fine dining environment or a line cook position, this isn't it•and that's a good thing. At Maven Meals, we cook in bulk. Think big-batch soups, large-scale roasted vegetables, high-volume proteins, and family-style recipes prepared in massive quantities. Our goal is to produce consistently great food efficiently, every single week. This role is ideal for someone who: Wants to learn every aspect of professional cooking in a supportive environment Is genuinely excited about big-batch cooking and high-volume production Thrives when helping a team and takes pride in doing the unglamorous work well Understands that great food starts with great prep What You'll Do As a Junior Prep Cook, you'll work side by side with our senior prep team, learning the ropes while making a real impact every day.
Day-to-day tasks include:
Measuring, portioning, and gathering ingredients for daily production Washing, peeling, and prepping vegetables and proteins Assisting with cooking tasks: sautéing, roasting, braising, sauce work, and assembly Supporting experienced cooks with large-batch recipes using commercial equipment (tilt skillets, combi ovens, convection ovens) Keeping your station clean, organized, and food-safe throughout the shift Communicating with teammates and helping the kitchen stay on track on busy production daysThe Schedule Days:

Typically 7am-3pm Hours per week: 30-40 hours No late nights, no weekend doubles. We believe sustainable schedules make better cooks and better food.What We're Looking For Required:
Basic cooking knowledge and a genuine interest in food•culinary school or formal training not required Hard-working, positive attitude•this is a fast-paced kitchen and your energy matters Ability to follow detailed recipe instructions and stay organized under pressure Comfortable with physical work: on your feet all shift, lifting 50+ lbs regularly Washington State Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain one before starting) A team player who communicates well and shows up for their crewBonus Points:
