Juvenile Probation Officer

Job Summary The Probation Officer plays a critical role in the criminal justice system by supervising individuals placed on probation. This position involves working closely with offenders to ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions, providing support for rehabilitation, and facilitating access to community resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting positive behavioral changes in clients. Duties Monitor and supervise individuals on probation, ensuring compliance with court conditions. Conduct regular interviews and assessments to evaluate progress and identify needs. Develop individualized case management plans tailored to each client's circumstances. Provide crisis management support and intervention when necessary. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior changes. Prepare detailed reports documenting client progress, compliance, and any violations. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, social services, and community organizations to facilitate client support. Maintain accurate records of all interactions and interventions with clients. Experience Candidates should have a background in social work or a related field. Experience in interviewing, crisis management, motivational interviewing, report writing, law enforcement, or case management is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential for success in this role. On-call requirement on a rotating basis. Position is at-will, unclassified position at the pleasure of the Juvenile Judge.
