K-8 Art Teacher 21 Roseborough Road, Lugoff, SC 29078 $51,712.16 - $62,277.01 a year - Part-time $51,712.16 - $62,277.01 a year - Part-time Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated K-8 Art Teacher to inspire creativity and foster artistic development among students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art education, classroom management, and curriculum development, with experience working with children across diverse learning needs. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant educational environment that values artistic expression and holistic student growth. Duties Develop and implement engaging art curricula aligned with grade-level standards and school objectives. Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and various learning technologies to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement. Create innovative lesson plans that incorporate creative writing, visual arts, and other expressive mediums. Manage classroom behavior effectively to promote a positive learning environment. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing where applicable. Provide individualized support through tutoring or extra help sessions to students needing additional assistance. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, including integrating literacy, math, and physical education into art lessons. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with parents and guardians. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with autism, special education requirements, or those in early childhood education settings. Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and contribute to curriculum review processes. Skills Strong expertise in curriculum development tailored for K-8 students. Proficiency with LMS platforms and learning technology tools for interactive lesson planning and delivery. Creative writing skills to incorporate storytelling into art projects. Excellent classroom management and behavior management techniques. Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or in preschool settings. Effective communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues. Knowledge of literacy education, childhood development, and educational best practices such as Montessori or preschool methodologies. Ability to design lessons that integrate math concepts, physical education activities, and standardized testing preparation when appropriate. Experience in tutoring, academic advising, or working within private school environments is a plus.
