About the Position We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable K-5 Resource Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for elementary students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, student-centered, and skilled in delivering targeted interventions that promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, behavior, and executive functioning aligned with student IEP goals. Deliver instruction in small-group, one-on-one, and push-in or pull-out settings. Use evidence-based strategies, accommodations, and curriculum modifications to support student success. Monitor, collect, and analyze student data to guide instruction and document progress. Participate in the referral, evaluation, and eligibility process for special education services. Develop, implement, and update IEPs in compliance with state and district guidelines. Communicate regularly with families to share progress and discuss student needs. Support students with behavior plans and teach self-regulation and social-emotional skills. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid Washington state teaching certification with a Special Education Endorsement. Strong understanding of evidence-based practices, MTSS/RTI frameworks, and behavior-support strategies. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Preferred Master's degree in Special Education or related field. Prior experience working in an elementary resource or learning-support setting. Familiarity with assistive technology and data-driven instruction.
