POSITION OVERVIEW
: The Kâ€"8 Spanish Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based Spanish language instruction to students in elementary and middle school (grades Kâ€"8). The teacher fosters a positive learning environment that promotes language acquisition, cultural awareness, and communication skills appropriate to students' developmental levels.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver effective Spanish language instruction aligned with school curriculum and state/world language standards Teach speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish using age-appropriate methods Incorporate cultural lessons to enhance global awareness and appreciation of Spanish-speaking countries Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles Use a variety of instructional strategies, including games, songs, technology, and interactive activities Assess student progress regularly and provide feedback to students and parents Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events

Ability to engage young learners through interactive and creative teaching methods Strong organizational and lesson-planning skills Cultural competency and enthusiasm for global education Ability to differentiate instruction for varied learning abilities Effective communication and collaboration skills
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand and support the mission and vision of the MOT Charter School. Maintain a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and situations. Utilize online resources for instruction and communication. Serve as a positive role model for students and professionals alike. Work cooperatively with other faculty, staff, and administrators to support the school's objectives. Proactively contribute to a positive school climate. Develop and maintain positive relations within the school community, as well as with stakeholders outside the school community.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education Valid state teaching certification/license (Spanish Language or equivalent) Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish Experience teaching or working with children (Kâ€"8 preferred) Strong classroom management and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Education or related field Prior experience teaching Spanish in an elementary or middle school setting Familiarity with ACTFL standards or similar world language frameworks Experience integrating technology into language instruction
WORKING CONDITIONS
Classroom-based teaching environment May require standing, moving around the classroom, and supervising students Occasional evening or weekend events (e.g., school functions)
