Rehm Animal Clinic - Hillcrest Kennel Assistant Supervisor Full-Time | Weekends & Holidays Required Lead a Team That Makes a Difference Every Day Rehm Animal Clinic is seeking a dependable, hands-on, motivated Kennel Assistant Supervisor to lead our kennel team in providing exceptional care to boarding, hospitalized, and daycare patients. This is not a desk job. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and genuinely loves animals and team development. We are looking for someone who can keep standards high, hold a team accountable, stay calm under pressure, and help create a clean, organized, compassionate environment for both pets and people. What You'll Do As Kennel Assistant Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the kennel department while actively working alongside your team. Leadership Responsibilities Supervise, train, coach, and support kennel assistants Ensure proper staffing, task completion, and workflow throughout the day Maintain high standards for cleanliness, patient care, and organization Hold team members accountable to hospital protocols and expectations Assist with onboarding and training new kennel staff Communicate effectively with management, technicians, receptionists, and doctors Help maintain a positive, team-oriented culture Patient Care Responsibilities Monitor boarding and hospitalized pets for signs of illness, stress, or discomfort Ensure pets are walked, exercised, fed, medicated, and cared for properly Safely handle and restrain animals when needed Assist with bathing, grooming, cleaning, and patient comfort care Maintain clean kennels, cages, runs, litter boxes, and treatment areas Help with laundry, sanitation, and hospital deep cleaning Assist technicians and veterinarians as directed Ensure compliance with animal restraint protocols and safety regulations during handling and treatment procedures. Coordinate with veterinary staff to monitor animal health status and communicate any concerns or behavioral issues promptly.
