Ruff Luxury Inn at The Dunes is searching for an attentive, passionate kennel attendant to oversee the well-being of the dogs in our care. The kennel attendant's responsibilities include cleaning suites, administering, and providing animals with food and water, as well as exercising and playing with the dogs. Attendant must also be able to work together as a team, collaboration with team members is an imperative key to achieve the company goal of providing exceptional care to Daycare & Boarding customers. To ensure success as a kennel attendant, you should be able to anticipate and tend to the needs of animals. Ultimately, a top-notch kennel attendant will be able to tailor their care according to each animals' physical, emotional, and behavioral needs while also providing them with a clean environment.
Kennel Attendant Responsibilities:
Working together & communicating with a team of attendants to care for dogs Transporting dogs to and from the suites to go outside or to play areas Ensuring that all dogs have water at all times & food when needed. Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, halls, runs and play areas as often as is necessary to ensure no suites or runs are soiled and odors are not apparent. Perform general cleaning in other areas of the building to control the spread of disease. Wash and sterilize water and food bowls. Disposing of trash/waste in a timely manner. Rounding, playing with and cleaning up after the dogs under the guidance of the Shift Leader. Accompanying animals at all times when out of their suite. Calming animals who are in distress. Cleaning and refilling any supplies needed throughout shift such as laundry, dishes, refilling cleaning supplies Reporting significant changes in functioning or behavior of the dog(s) to the Shift Leader/Kennel Manager on duty. Evacuating all animals if an emergency occurs.
Kennel Attendant Requirements:
20 years of age or older
Education Required:
Complete our on-site-Training High school diploma preferred but not required Physical stamina Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds unaided A passion for animal well-being Previous experience caring for animals will be advantageous Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills Available to work during evenings, and on weekends and national holidays Holiday and Weekend availability are
