• Full-time Kennel Tech / Dog Trainer Apprentice The Dogs Spot is hiring one or two new team members to start as kennel techs with the opportunity to grow into dog training roles.

This is a hands-on, physical job working with dogs of all sizes. You will start by learning daily kennel care, cleaning, feeding, bathing, checking dogs in/out, and safely handling dogs. As you prove reliability, consistency, and dog-handling skills, you can progress into training assistant duties and eventually trainer responsibilities. This is not a "play with puppies all day" job. It is rewarding, but it is hard work. We are looking for someone dependable, coachable, calm under pressure, and willing to learn our system.

Responsibilities include:

Cleaning kennels and maintaining a clean facility Feeding, watering, potty breaks, and basic dog care Bathing dogs and helping with check-outs Safely handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments Following written procedures and safety rules Assisting trainers as skills progress Learning obedience handling, graduation lessons, meet-and-greets, Free Training Days, community outings, DIY/Accelerator support, and PUPS pack walks as you advance Pay progression: Starting pay: $12/hr Raises are earned through completed skill checklists, reliability, and management sign-off.

Requirements:

Must be reliable and on time Must be able to work full shifts Must be available weekends, holidays, and rotating Sundays Must be comfortable with cleaning and physical labor Must be able to lift, bend, walk, and be on your feet most of the day Must be calm and confident around dogs Must be willing to follow instructions exactly Previous dog experience is helpful, but attitude and reliability matter most This may be a good fit if you: Want to build a career working with dogs Are interested in learning dog training Do not mind cleaning, hard work, or being outside Can take feedback without taking it personally Are dependable and want to grow with a small business
