In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable kennels for dog and cats, ensuring their well-being through attentive care and handling. Your enthusiasm and dedication will directly contribute to the health, happiness, and safety of our fury residents. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your animal handling skills while working alongside experienced veterinary professionals. Duties Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and surrounding areas to uphold hygiene standards and prevent disease transmission Monitor animals' health status, observe for signs of illness or distress, and report findings promptly to veterinary staff Feeding, watering, walking, bathing, nail trims and some grooming Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety for both animals and staff Skills Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal care experience preferred; strong animal husbandry skills are essential Ability to handle a variety of animals confidently including dogs, cats, and potentially equine species with patience and compassion Excellent animal handling skills coupled with understanding of pet care best practices to ensure safety and comfort Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team of veterinary professionals This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal welfare who want to grow their skills in a fast-paced environment.
