Kiddie Camp Director/Teacher

Kiddie Camp Director will assume a lead role in planning and implementation of activities in the summer camp program. Kiddie Camp Director will be directly responsible for the supervision and safety of registrants, the supervision and management of Camp Counselors and assisting the Program Coordinator in all aspects of program planning and implementation.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, Kiddie Camp Director will:

• Comply with agency policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe environment for participants
• Assume a lead role in the planning of day to day camp activities
• Lead Camp Counselors in the implementation of camp activities
• Supervise participants and enforce camp rules
• Maintain an open line of communication with Program Coordinator
• Appropriately communicate with participants and parents
• Identify safety concerns to Program Coordinator
• Directly supervise and lead the day to day activities of camp

Minimum Qualifications:

Kiddie Camp Director must be of legal age to work in Illinois and demonstrate an ability to lead, supervise and maintain the safety for children ages 3-6 years old. Camp Director will have prior experience working in a day camp environment or similar workplace.

Special Requirements:

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in situations supervising children and staff. Successful candidates will also have direct camp experience with knowledge of creative problem solving, disciplining of children and child development.
