KEYSTONE POTATO PRODUCTS, LLC POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title:
Quality Control Lab Technician Department :
Quality Reports To:
Quality Assurance/Sanitation Manager, Production Manager, Shift Supervisor Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in assuring that a quality product is being produced through performing quality control testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follow procedures for maintaining high standards for quality, reliability and safety. 2. Support companywide quality improvement efforts. 3. Utilize improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability and safety. 4. Follow quality and safety requirements in accordance with real company needs, based on current regulations and state-of-the art product development. 5. Communicate and work closely with production and yet be able to work independently 6. Maintain open communication with production staff about quality issues 7. Ability to stay focused on getting necessary tasks completed. 8. Keep accurate records of analysis performed. 9. Perform quality control testing on both the raw potato and the finished product. 10. Collect samples for quality assurance testing. 11. Report any unsafe conduct that may compromise the product quality or the safety of personnel to both the Production Supervisor and the Quality Assurance Manager. 12. Measuring additive flow rates. 13. Perform metal detector checks. 14. Maintain analysis records for in-house lab data. 15. Keep production informed of quality issues. 16. Keep the quality control lab clean. 17. Assist in other areas whenever needed.
Required Skills:
1. Food science or related degree preferred. 2. 2 years of laboratory experience without degree.
