Kumon After-School Part-Time Bilingual Classroom Assistant

Kumon of Suwanee East is proud to offer a new education program, English for Foreign Learners (EFL) to better support Spanish-speaking families in our community . Kumon's English for Foreign Learners program is designed to help students whose first language is not English build stronger English reading, listening, comprehension, and communication skills through Kumon's structured learning approach. We are hiring a bilingual English/Spanish staff member who can help support students and families interested in or enrolled in this program. This is an English-speaking classroom role , and most of the day-to-day work will involve supporting our regular Kumon Math and Reading students . However, Spanish fluency is important because this staff member may need to communicate with students or parents in Spanish at times to provide support. We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented part-time staff member to assist in our math and reading learning center. This role primarily involves grading student worksheets, organizing materials, assisting students with questions when needed, walking around the classroom to monitor student progress, and helping maintain a positive and structured classroom environment. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with school-age children, communicates well with parents, and is looking for a consistent part-time role during after-school hours.

Please note:

this position requires availability Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from approximately 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This is a year-round position . The center closes during scheduled school breaks such as winter break, spring break, and other planned center closures. Primary Classroom Responsibilities Grade students' Math and Reading worksheets using answer books and computer-based grading tools Assist students with questions when needed Help maintain a calm, positive, and organized classroom environment Support basic classroom management and student routines Support instructors with daily center operations Bilingual / English Learner Support Responsibilities Support students and families interested in or enrolled in Kumon's English for Foreign Learners program. Communicate with Spanish-speaking parents in Spanish when needed to answer basic questions or provide support during enrollment Follow up with parents when needed in a friendly and professional manner Support English learner students in the classroom using Kumon procedures and materials Requirements Fluent in Spanish and English Friendly and professional attitude Dependable and punctual Comfortable working with children Detail-oriented when checking student work using answer books Strong basic math and reading skills Able to communicate clearly and professionally with parents in Spanish and English Reliable transportation Must pass a background check Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children in a classroom, tutoring, childcare, school, or educational setting Familiarity with school-age students and parent communication Interest in education, reading, language development, or student support Comfortable supporting students who are learning English as an additional language Schedule Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday . Shifts are from approximately 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM . This position requires availability on all four class days Once hired, staff are expected to be consistent and dependable on their assigned days. This position is year-round , with center closures during scheduled breaks such as winter break, spring break, and other planned center closures. Compensation Starting pay typically ranges from $9-$15 per hour depending on experience and initial responsibilities. Opportunities for increased pay and responsibility after training. Training will be provided and paid.
