SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER

• Title 32, WG-5801-8, you will troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, comb, tactical and automotive vehicles.

Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul major systems. Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures. Remove and disassemble engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and systems. Independently perform repairs and maintenance functions by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems. Conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and equipment. Perform operional inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly serviced. May maintain and repair equipment to include removing and replacing components and elements. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENT

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

You must maintain membership in the Kentucky Nional Guard. You must be assigned to a compible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudicion of a T3 or equivalent investigion. Acceptance of a Federal position may termine a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will termine Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is loced on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

Experience which demonstres knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventive maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Must have experience using a variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts/components/accessories. Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles. Experience maintaining the operion of the various systems. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schemics.
