Fluor is a leading government contractor with a proven track record of delivering high‑value technical solutions around the world to U.S. government agencies such as the DOE, NNSA, the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. ## Job Description The Director I, Construction Support position directs the operations of a multi-discipline department within the Construction Support group, which provides construction and technical support to projects during the conceptual, design, and construction phases of a project. This position typically supports the functional aspects for assigned functions to the corporate construction group and any of the business groups. This position may serve as a Department Manager for a functional discipline.
- Provide assistance and technical direction to business units
- Develop departmental construction support programs and procedures
- Typically manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job, formal training, development opportunities, and timely performance feedback
- Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across all business groups, lines, functions, and locations
- Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action
- Other duties as assigned ## Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eighteen (18) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner ## Other Job Requirements ## Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to speak/read multiple languages
- Possess operational and personnel management skills
- Possess problem solving, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
- Extensive understanding of construction operations and support functions
- Ability to collaborate and adapt to changing conditions
- Capable of performing constructability assignments in the office(s) and/or at the site
