Job Title:
Application Specialist - Pumps Reports to: Sales Manager Summary Responsible for engineering, designing, specifying, and selecting rotating equipment for the petrochemical and refining industries. Develop customer proposals based on specifications, operating conditions, and industry standards. Manage projects and order status to meet delivery requirements while maintaining communication with internal and external customers regarding project progress, changes, and optimization opportunities. Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively when dealing with unexpected interruptions. Essential Duties Receive phone calls and emails from external & internal customers which must be handled on a timely basis. Information handled will typically include RFQ's, technical assistance/support, equipment manufacturer support, technical product support, delivery expediting, etc. Manage multiple project inquiries and project quotations Facilitate customer application requirements for their assembly, sizing and product selection Understand and ensure that the (Total Customer Commitment) standards are upheld at all times Actively and enthusiastically attend required and preferred training Participate in an after-hours and weekend 'On-Call' rotation Actively and enthusiastically support colleagues at all times, and especially when overload situations arise Accurately complete quotes, order entry and purchase orders Always build and cultivate solid relationships Remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times, regardless of location Some travel may be required This job is demanding in terms of knowledge skills, commitment, and all other job-related qualifications. Urgency and pressure for prompt, accurate results are routine. Multi-tasking and the ability to handle and manage interruptions is expected. Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position. Education and/or Work Experience A degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred Experience in an industrial environment - preferably an industrial internship Experience with 2D or 3D CAD drafting / design software is preferred In the absence of a degree, experience in a similar role in the chemical, petrochemical, refining or oil & gas industries may be considered A non-degreed candidate with a high mechanical aptitude may be considered Supervisory Responsibilities No Yes, please list direct report's titles Travel Some travel is required Competencies Ethics and Values Integrity Customer Service Tenacious Strong Mechanical Aptitude Professionally Articulate Capable of reading Equipment & Process Specification documents Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word Professional in appearance and actions Inquisitive about the industrial process industry Successful in interfacing with customers, internal and external Problem Solver
