Lab Analyst III - Chemistry / Microbiology degree + 3 years Lab Experience Required

The Green Analytics' companies are leaders in cannabis science and technology with significant footprints in laboratory testing and analytics, research and development, genetics, cultivation consulting, environmental swabbing and monitoring, packaging integrity studies, and product development. Our teams, led by highly experienced Ph.D. 's and analytical chemists, hold accuracy, customer service, and rapid turnaround time as our primary commitments to the medical and recreational cannabis cultivators and processors we serve. Employees may be exposed to common allergens and must be comfortable working with/near cannabis related products.
ANALYST III SCHEDULE
Facilities are open 365 days/year, 7 days per week including holidays. Assigned schedule will include work on holidays and either Saturday or Sunday.
ANALYST III POSITION SUMMARY
This is an advanced analytical position responsible for for various laboratory support functions to include instrument tuning, equipment maintenance, and analysis of quality control data.
ANALYST III GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Performs basic instrument maintenance to include routine consumable swaps, cleanings, etc. Works with Lab Director to ensure lab efficiencies for prioritization, workflow, and sample preparation Provides for the loading and running of instruments, calibration, standard preparation, and instrument tuning Identifies opportunities for improvement; works with Department Head to implement new and improved methods and processes Assists with the upkeep and improvement of the quality management system to include Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and the employee training programs Prepares calibrations and verifies quality controls for laboratory instruments and methods; uses data to recognize and/or correct possible processing or instrument errors Acquires and analyzes data used to perform and report analytical laboratory testing of cannabis products Assists with the validation of test methods and with Research and Development (R&D) related activities Provides for the documentation and tracking of Continuing Calibration Verification (CCV) Standards for Quality Assurance Prepares reports related to cannabinoid potency, terpene potency, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, microbiologic organisms, water activity and mycotoxins (Chemistry Analyst) Imports data into LIMS and Seed-to-Sale systems; submits data reports and Certificates of Analysis for supervisory approval Demonstrated competency in non-routine instrument maintenance (i.e. independent trouble-shooting of infrequently presenting issues). Ability to confidently train and oversee workflow in at least two instrumentation methods as directed by management Ability to competently follow through on unique, non-routine projects to completion. Such projects may include, but are not limited to method development, method optimization, and method/instrument validations and verifications Responsible for inventory oversight of crucial departmental supplies May also be called upon to perform the same or similar duties at other laboratory facilities, and for other job-related duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
General Knowledge/Abilities Ability to fluently speak and read the English language along with understanding and following both written and verbal direction Ability to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with fellow employees Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurement Ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios; demonstrated abilities in troubleshooting and problem-solving Basic knowledge of modern office practices and use of Microsoft Office Suite for Word and Excel Experience in driving tasks and meeting deadlines; accountable for the completion of assigned goals and objectives Ability to build relationships to strengthen partnerships with a focus on customer service Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc. Education, Licenses/Certifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited college or university Preferred Experience Minimum of 3 years non-academic experience in a real-world analytical laboratory setting Relevant industry related experience in Medical Cannabis is a plus
