LAB TECH I - 2ND AND 3RD SHIFT

Job Description Lab Tech I - 3rd Shift Summary Responsible for analyzing products for salt and Aflatoxin.

Responsibilities:

Plays a key role in conducting analytical testing, supporting research projects, and ensuring the quality and safety of food products Applies fundamental scientific principles to analyze commodities performing routine and specialized chemical analyses of food Prepare samples, reagents, and standards according to established protocols Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as HPLC Document results accurately in laboratory notebooks and digital systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA, ISO, USDA). Analyze samples for salt, moisture and water activity. Analyze samples for Aflatoxin. Enter results into the Aflatoxin Database and NAV database. Maintain accurate records of all testing and lab equipment. Aid in preparation of outgoing samples to external laboratories. Notify the Technician II, Lab Supervisor, or Lab Manager or problems with analysis or samples. Follow all written policies and procedures and provide customer support. Provide audit support and participate in internal audits. Aid with troubleshooting with equipment. Additional responsibilities may be added.

Experience, Education, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma. Computer experience is required. Math and report writing abilities. 2.

Qualifications:

BS in biology or chemistry or related science. Laboratory experience.
