Job Description

Job Summary HLI Laboratory Technician plays a key role in supporting biosecurity, animal health, and diagnostic services through accurate and timely laboratory testing. This position is responsible for performing microbiological and serological testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering reliable results that support internal operations and external customers.
Responsibilities Laboratory Testing & Analysis:
  • Perform PCR, ELISA, microbiological culture, and quantitative assays.
  • Conduct disease monitoring tests (Salmonella, MG, MS, AI, titers).
  • Prepare and process samples and interpret results.
  • Carry out internal research projects.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  • Maintain compliance with NPIP, OSHA, and animal welfare regulations.
  • Follow SOPs and quality control protocols.
Sample & Workflow Management:
  • Receive, log, and organize incoming samples.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of results.
Equipment & Inventory Management:
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment.
  • Manage supplies and inventory.
Collaboration & Customer Support:
  • Communicate with veterinarians, customers, and teams.
  • Provide timely and accurate results. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with lab techniques preferred.
Pay:
$25.46 - $30.66 per hour
