YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT
As the Land Management Assistant, you will: Assist with the operation and maintenance of park amenities, wetlands, natural areas, boardwalks, and trails. Conduct natural resource inventory and monitoring. Provide for group use of the park amenities. Perform general park maintenance to ensure clean, safe, and welcoming spaces. Identify and remove invasive and exotic plant species to help preserve native habitats. Operate different types of equipment to complete a wide range of park maintenance tasks. QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) months of experience in laboring work.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
The selected candidate for this position
MUST:
Obtain a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) Public Applicator License with certification in Aquatic Pest Control and/or Natural Areas Weed Management, Ornament and Turf Pest Control and Right-of-Way Pest Control within six (6) months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience in landscape maintenance involving identifying and removing invasive exotic plants, Experience evaluating and interpreting technical data, Possession of current RUP License with certification in Aquatic Pest Control, Natural Areas Weed Management, Ornamental and Turf Pest Control and Right-of-Way Pest Control, Experience maintaining interior/exterior areas, including boardwalks, trails, waterways, public areas, picnic areas and restrooms, offices, parking lots, and boardwalks, and Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
