Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Landscape Designer to bring outdoor spaces to life through creative vision and technical expertise. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to develop inspiring landscape designs that blend functionality with aesthetic appeal. Your passion for sustainable practices and attention to detail will drive the transformation of ideas into beautiful, practical environments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape outdoor experiences while honing your skills in a vibrant, team-oriented setting. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive landscape design concepts using software such as utilize design software. Prepare detailed and construction documents that meet project specifications and industry standards. Coordinate project scheduling to ensure timely completion of design phases and deliverables. Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, needs, and budget constraints, translating these into innovative design solutions. Assist in selecting appropriate materials, plants, and features that align with sustainability goals and aesthetic preferences. Support project management efforts by tracking progress, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with contracts and construction requirements. Communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and team members to facilitate smooth project execution from concept through construction. Experience Proven experience in landscape design or related fields with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects. Proficiency in design development and presentation purposes. Solid understanding of native Michigan Plants. Familiarity with project scheduling tools and methods to manage multiple projects efficiently. Knowledge of contracts, construction processes, and best practices in landscape architecture is highly desirable. Prior experience working on sustainable or environmentally conscious projects is a plus.
