Landscape Maintenance Team Member

Overview The Landscape Maintenance Team Member is a reliable, physically active individual responsible for performing general landscaping duties to ensure commercial and residential properties are maintained to high aesthetic standards. This role works as part of a crew, performing essential tasks such as mowing, weeding, planting, and general cleanup under the direction of a Team Leader.

Duties General Grounds Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, trimming hedges and shrubs, weeding garden beds, and raking leaves.

Equipment Operation:

Safely operate a variety of landscape equipment including commercial mowers (push and walk-behind), string trimmers, blowers, edgers, and various hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners).

Planting and Installation Support:

Assist with the installation of new plant material, mulch, sod, and other softscape elements as instructed.

Property Cleanup:

Ensure all job sites are clean and free of debris at the end of each workday, including clearing grass clippings from paved areas and properly disposing of waste.

Vehicle and Equipment Care:

Assist with the daily inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance of tools, equipment, and company vehicles. Report any equipment malfunctions immediately to the Team Leader.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), following safe lifting practices, and maintaining situational awareness on job sites.

Teamwork and Communication:

Work effectively as part of a team, follow directions from the Team Leader, and maintain a positive and professional attitude.

Requirements Experience:

Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related outdoor labor field is preferred but not always required for entry-level positions. On-the-job training is often provided.

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with common landscape tools and equipment is a plus. A willingness to learn proper horticultural practices and equipment operation is essential.

Certifications:

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the shop/meeting point may be required.

Soft Skills:

Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions accurately. A commitment to quality work and attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

This is a physically demanding role. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain), perform strenuous tasks such as lifting up to 50-75 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

Pay:

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
