Laser Operator (2+ years experience required)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of hands-on experience operating laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. This role requires strong technical skills, particularly in setting and adjusting cutting parameters based on material type, thickness, and desired finish quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain CNC laser cutting machines (fiber lasers) according to safety and quality standards. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine appropriate cutting paths and specifications. Set and adjust laser parameters (speed, power, frequency, gas pressure, focal point, etc.) for a wide range of materials and thicknesses. Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy using measuring tools and adjust machine settings as needed. Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot basic issues to minimize downtime. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure efficiency and precision. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience operating laser cutting equipment in a production environment. Proficiency in setting machine parameters for different cutting conditions and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Familiarity with CNC programming or CAD/CAM software is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment:

Fast-paced, hands-on shop floor environment requiring use of PPE and adherence to strict safety protocols.
