Job Description

Lateral Associate Attorney Farrish Johnson Law Office - Mankato, Minnesota Farrish Johnson Law Office has served Southern Minnesota since 1893. As one of the region's most established and respected law firms, our seven-attorney practice is built on a foundation of excellence, integrity, and collaboration. We are proud of our strong community reputation, long-standing client relationships, and highly skilled support team. We are seeking an experienced lateral attorney to expand our firm's practice offerings in one or more of the following areas:
  • Criminal Defense
  • Workers' Compensation
  • Bankruptcy/Creditors' Rights
  • Construction Law This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial attorney who is interested in growing or transitioning their practice within a well-established firm platform.
We are looking for a self-directed attorney who brings experience in one or a combination of the above practice areas and is motivated to build and develop that practice within our firm. The ideal candidate values professional independence while benefiting from a collaborative team environment, strong administrative support, and an established firm reputation in Southern Minnesota. Portable business is welcome but not required. We are committed to supporting strategic growth in practice areas that complement our existing services.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow a practice in one or more identified areas
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, and negotiations
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Collaborate with firm attorneys on cross-referrals and client service
  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics and professionalism
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Minnesota
  • Demonstrated experience in criminal defense, workers' compensation, bankruptcy, construction law, or a combination thereof
  • Strong courtroom and advocacy skills (where applicable to practice area)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in practice development
