Job Description

The Laundry Aide is responsible for the day-to-day laundry functions. Job responsibilities include collecting soiled linens or clothing, sorting laundry by color and fabric type, performing stain treatments, and operating laundry machines to wash and dry items. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and procedures Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of chemicals Follow proper protocol for machines and use the correct temperatures according to multiple fabric types Sort, pre-treat, fold and hang all laundry accordingly Deliver residents laundry to the proper rooms and put away accordingly Maintains high standards and works steadily at an efficient pace Interacts friendly and supportively with staff, patients, visitors and coworkers Respects all property of Prairieview Lutheran Home Accepts suggestions and direction from supervisors and staff Honors department's attendance, break, behavior, dress and safety codes. Accepts and absorbs department education programs Exercises good judgment while working around patients and visitors Always maintains a professional mannerism Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs Reports any safety issues for repairs Responds to direction as provided by director Assists other associates as necessary All other duties as assigned Competencies Communication Dependability Ethical Practice Critical Evaluation Detail Oriented Time management Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to handle multiple priorities Ability to perform tasks with frequent interruptions Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills
