Job Description
The selected attorney or law firm will provide legal services including, but not limited to:
- Representation of Morgan County in court proceedings for the prosecution and enforcement of violations of County ordinances
- Prosecution or enforcement of ordinances, including but not limited to: noise violations, burn ban violations, animal control violations, and other violations of County ordinances that include enforcement actions, as assigned
- Legal consultation with County officials and departments regarding enforcement actions
- Preparation of filings, pleadings, and court appearances as required
- Conducting an initial review of County ordinances related to enforcement, including evaluation of prescribed enforcement actions and penalties, and provide recommendations for updates or improvements
- Advising the County on prioritization of enforcement actions, including development of recommended strategies or guidelines to allocate resources effectively across ordinance violations
