An Animal Control Officer works for a police department or public safety agency and responds to calls for help with abandoned or mistreated animals. Assists with capturing wild animals found in city neighborhoods or populated areas.
We are seeking a reliable, animal-loving On-Site Property Caretaker & Canine Foster Provider for a unique live-in opportunity on a quiet 2-acre country property.
Compensation & Living Arrangement:
Provided Housing:
Fully rent-free living in a private, upper-floor residence (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining, large living room, driveway, and yard access).
Total Privacy:
The living quarters are completely separate from the lower-level foster area (no internal stairs or access). Equipped with external security monitoring for your peace of mind.
Utilities:
Compensation is provided via fully covered housing (estimated at $1,600+/month rental value). The resident caretaker covers a flat $200/month utility offset, with all remaining utilities paid by us.
Flexible Outside Work:
Active care responsibilities are primarily during morning and evening routines, making this ideal for someone with an outside part-time day job or flexible remote schedule.
Responsibilities:
Canine Care (5 or fewer dogs): Manage morning and evening feeding schedules, water refreshes, bedding, laundry, and daily cleaning/sanitization of the dedicated lower-level foster area.
Volunteer Coordination:
Serve as a friendly, welcoming point of contact for community volunteers who come to walk the dogs (volunteers operate independently once oriented).
Property Oversight:
Maintain general upkeep, cleanliness, and security of the property and outdoor spaces. Qualifications & Skills
Strong Dog Skills:
Practical experience handling multiple dogs, understanding basic canine behavior, and maintaining consistent care and sanitation routines.
Great People Communication:
Friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with visiting volunteers and coordinators.
Dependability & Integrity:
Responsible, self-motivated, and respectful of the property and animals. Must be comfortable living on-site as the primary residential presence.
