Able to work in hot, wet areas and wear personal protective clothing. Shift Primarily days (i.e. Monday - Friday, 7a-3:30 p) This position is required to participate in weekend, after hours, holiday and on-call rotations.

May be required to report when the Univeristy is closed to provide treatment and support to our research animals. Job Summary The Animal Care Supervisor II provides operational and supervisory leadership for animal husbandry, cage wash, and facility support services within an assigned DLAR facility. This role ensures regulatory compliance, high standards of animal welfare, effective staff supervision, and efficient daily operations. The Supervisor II partners with veterinary staff, research investigators, and facility leadership to support research activities, inspections, and accreditation requirements while maintaining accurate documentation, staff training, and facility readiness. Provides, on a rotational basis, holiday, after-hour and weekend coverage for husbandry related issues.

Excel, Outlook, Word Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes Preferred Education/Experience BA/BS in a relevant field (Animal Sciences, Pre-Veterinary Medicine, Zoology, etc. or its equivalent); minimum of 6 years animal husbandry (laboratory animal husbandry preferred) or equivalent animal related experience directly related to the care, use, handling and treatment of animals in a paid position (i.e, work in pet stores, veterinary clinics, farm or ranch); AALAS certified LATg, Driver's license preferred.
