Job Description
The City of Saint Paul Animal Services Center (SPAS) is seeking a dedicated Animal Services Officer II to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside a collaborative group of professionals committed to caring for more than 2,000 dogs, cats, small animals, and wildlife each year while helping protect the health and safety of our community. As an Animal Services Officer II, you will investigate animal-related complaints, conduct patrols and inspections, and enforce city animal and pest control ordinances. Responsibilities include determining compliance with Saint Paul legislative codes, issuing citations and corrective actions when necessary, and preparing reports and documentation related to inspections, investigations, and enforcement activities. Help implement and enforce animal-related state statutes and city ordinances while educating residents on responsible animal care and compliance requirements. In addition, you will support daily operations at the Saint Paul Animal Services Center and assist fellow staff with recurring shelter duties.
