Job Description

Join Our Team as the Community Code Enforcement Officer The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking an experienced and skilled Community Code Enforcement Officer to enforce the Town's Municipal Code and Land Management Ordinance relating to environmental, public safety, health, sanitation, and other general regulations. What You Will Do Receive and respond to citizen complaints regarding violations of Town zoning, Land Management Ordinances and related municipal codes and ordinances Inspect and patrol the Town of Hilton Head Island's beaches, parks, and properties to ensure compliance with Town Municipal Code and Land Management ordinance Conduct field investigations; inspect properties for violations; attempt to resolve violation; issue and post warning notices, notices of violation, corrective notices, orders to comply, and related documentation for code violations Investigate all violations and determine a remediation process by properly interpreting and applying the Municipal Code Assist Town Prosecutor in preparing cases for prosecution in Magistrate court Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; and three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Driver's license What We Offer A supportive environment where your skills and contributions are valued A comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, a healthcare reimbursement arrangement, and a generous matching 401(k) plan Relocation assistance is available Why Work with Us?
