Full Time Bellmead, TX Bellmead Police Department Salary:
$21.89 - $25.73
PER HOUR Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Community Development, this position will inspect and enforce Federal, State, and City building, property, zoning, and nuisance codes related to health and safety issues to protect the property values and safety of the City of Bellmead citizens.
Essential Functions:
Patrol streets and alleys of the City to prevent or detect code and ordinance violations. Respond to complaints/inquiries regarding reported code violations. Investigate reported violations, take photographs, and inspect properties for code violations or health related concerns. Conduct property inspections possible violations of City code and/or ordinance. Follow up to ensure compliance. Prepare correspondence and certified mailings to inform property owners of code violations. Issue warnings, correction notices, and deadlines regarding violations. Enforce sign ordinances and report violations. Work to ensure citizens are commercial business owners are made aware of City standards, ordinance, state laws and City services and processes. Coordinate with Police Officers on code enforcement and other quality of life issues. Work with City departments in code enforcement when requested.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent if required Two (2) years of customer service experience, one (1) year of which is in a Code Enforcement Officer in training role Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Texas driver's license. Must possess Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Code Enforcement Officer Certification or obtain within six (6) months from date of hire.
