NEW Animal Control Officer Milwaukee, WI Job Details Full-time 14 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation High school diploma or GED Driver's License Driving Data entry Organizational skills Animal welfare Entry level Full Job Description Responsibilities Animal Control Officers are responsible for: providing timely and quality pick up of stray, exotic and quarantine animals in the community; responding to animal assistance requests from various law enforcement agencies, the Milwaukee Department of Neighborhood Services, and health departments throughout the county; training and educating the community on animal care and licensing ordinances. Qualifications Candidates for the position of Animal Control Officer must meet the following minimum requirements: possess high school diploma or equivalent; have a valid Wisconsin drivers license; familiarity with roads and highways of the county; excellent organizational skills and strong initiative; ability to accurately complete intake records and document activities; a thorough understanding and dedication of the philosophies of animal welfare; must be able to lift "live weight" in excess of 50 pounds safely; possess the computer skills to perform data entry to maintain and update computerized records; ability to work a varied schedule including weekdays, weekends, early evenings, and some overtime.
