SUMMARY:
Communicate directly with clients and attorneys, verbally and in written format. Maintain caseload to assess and enforce child support orders. Attend hearings and complete case set up. Monitor and enforce cases under Title IV-D. I.
Description of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Attend family court to make initial contact with parties for child support case and retrieve data information. 2. Complete initial case set-up on the Texas Child Support System. 3. Prepare court documents relating to legal or other actions; E-file documents with the District Clerk and County Clerk offices. 4. Conduct locate and/or skip-trace investigations on State system to retrieve party information. 5. Complete required training; maintain confidentiality requirements. 6. Maintain caseload and perform complicated case assessments to refer for modifications or legal enforcement actions, schedule hearings, and issue service to parties. 7. Actively negotiate Child Support Review Hearings with parties to reach an agreement. 8. Attend Enforcement hearings; assist attorney with negotiations. 9. Review and approve cases for Quality Control. 10. Complete mail run to deliver and retrieve documents to/from other departments. 11. Occasionally process and document payments. 12. Perform other related duties involved in the operation of the business as assigned or required. II.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years experience in child support program or closely related experience. Requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively and ability to understand legal policy to implement in filing actions. Must have knowledge and skills for using a computer for word processing and data entry and retrieval. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. III.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, a person is regularly required to push, sit, stand, lift, stoop and reach. This position requires constant data monitoring and entering, frequent telephone contact with clients and interaction with general public, obligors, obligees and attorneys. This person will face the possibility of upset clients. May serve as a Notary Public
