The exam will be held throughout New York State from Wednesday, August 26, 2026, to Wednesday, October 7, 2026.As a Court Officer‑Trainee, you will participate in a structured training program that prepares you to maintain security and order in court facilities. Duties include screening visitors, enforcing court rules, maintaining order in courtrooms, and responding to emergencies. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of judges, staff, and the public while upholding the integrity of the judicial process.
New York State Court Officer‑Trainees, at time of appointment to the position•, must be:
At least 20.5 years oldA high school graduate or equivalentA resident of New York StateValid New York State Driver's LicenseLegally eligible to purchase and carry firearmsWhat the NYS Courts offer:
