Job Description
The Third Circuit Court of the Judicial District of Tennessee is seeking a full-time Court Officer with a start date of September 1, 2026. The position is 37.5 hours per week. The Selected Candidate must already be certified by and through the Davidson County Police Department. Monitor Courtroom to ensure compliance with Chamber Rules and proper decorum at all times. Transport and/or coordinate the safe and secure transport those in custody of the Davidson County Sheriff or any other law enforcement agency Assist Judge and Court Staff with Administrative duties as needed and as assigned. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on conflict resolution and/or proper de-escalation skills Operate as liaison between chambers and other metro and state offices. In addition to the basic responsibilities above, the following are also applicable to your position: Monitor and update processes, procedures and checklists for roles and responsibilities associated with your primary job responsibilities that are included in a comprehensive manual for the Office. Draft and update chamber rules specific to areas you will oversee Devise, implement, and manage processes for more efficient and effective systems for matters which you will oversee Attend weekly staff meetings (day and time to be determined). Maintain positive and friendly communication and interactions with anyone who interfaces with the Office. Continuously seek out opportunities for professional and personal development. Continuous provide feedback to the Judge of concerns, suggestions, or Complaints. Be present and/or readily available for work related matters Monday -Thursday, 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Friday, 8:00 AM until 3:00PM (including during WFH time and excluding reasonable and lawful breaks) As an Employee of the Court, you will be required to follow and be subjected to the Rules of Judicial Conduct as Set forth by the Tennessee Supreme Court. To qualify for the Position, one must possess the following traits and skills: Previous experience as a Court Officer, Probation Officer, or Law enforcement officer Provide proof of background in law enforcement or equivalent specialized training. Proficiency in Adobe and working with PDF Documents. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Exceptional ability to communicate, articulate, and relate to co workers and others with professionalism and integrity. Proficient typing and personal computer skills.
