Job Description

Job Overview As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring a secure environment for both staff and inmates. This position requires strong conflict management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Responsibilities Supervise inmate activities and maintain order within the facility. Conduct regular inspections of the premises to ensure safety and security protocols are followed. Monitor CCTV systems to observe inmate behavior and detect any suspicious activities. Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, utilizing first aid and CPR skills as necessary. Prepare detailed reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and any other relevant observations. Enforce facility rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure safety protocols are upheld. Engage in conflict management strategies to de-escalate potentially volatile situations. Requirements Previous experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is preferred. Knowledge of CCTV systems and their operation is advantageous. Certification in first aid and CPR is required. Strong report writing skills to document incidents accurately. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. Ability to manage conflicts calmly and professionally in high-pressure situations. Must pass background checks as required by facility regulations.
