Job Description

Join us at the Anamosa State Penitentiary as a Correctional Supervisor! The Anamosa State Penitentiary is looking for a Correctional Supervisor! In this position you would assist with supervision of incarcerated individuals, and overall operation of the institution during your assigned shift. You would ensure all DOC/ASP policies and procedures are followed in regard to security, safety, sanitation and maintenance within living units. Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: 1) Three years of full-time work experience in correctional or law enforcement officer work, one year of which must have been as a correctional officer in a juvenile or adult community/ institutional corrections or jail security program. 2) All of the following (a and b): a. One year of full-time work experience in correctional or law enforcement officer work; and b. A combination of a total of two years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in penology, police science, psychology, sociology, or social work equals one year of full-time experience. 3) Eighteen months of full-time work experience as a counselor of offenders in a community/ institutional corrections or jail security program. 4) A combination of a total of eighteen months of education and full-time experience (as described in number three), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in penology, police science, psychology, sociology, or social work equals one year of full-time experience. 5) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes any of the following: a. Six months of full-time work as a Senior Correctional Officer; b. One year of full-time work as a Correctional Counselor or State Industries Technician; or c. Two-and-a-half years of full time work as a Correctional Officer or Correctional Food Service Coordinator.
