Job Description
This a part time position but is more inline with PRN. When we have scheduled time off or call in's, we will call you to see if you are available to work. Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Part Correctional Officer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining safety, security, and order within correctional facilities. This position involves monitoring inmate activities, enforcing facility rules, and ensuring a secure environment for staff, inmates, and visitors. Your proactive approach and commitment to safety will help foster a respectful and controlled atmosphere essential for effective correctional operations. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in security, law enforcement, and conflict management while making a meaningful difference in the community. Responsibilities Monitor inmate behavior through CCTV surveillance and regular patrols to ensure compliance with facility rules. Enforce security protocols by conducting searches, inspections, and verifying inmate identification. Respond promptly to disturbances or emergencies using conflict management techniques and first aid procedures when necessary. Maintain accurate records by completing incident reports, shift logs, and inmate movement documentation with clarity and precision. Assist in the prevention of unauthorized access by controlling entry points and verifying visitor credentials. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents requiring external coordination. Support emergency response efforts by administering CPR or first aid as needed and communicating effectively with emergency responders. Skills Proficiency in CCTV monitoring systems for surveillance purposes. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and security best practices. Certification or experience in first aid and CPR to handle medical emergencies confidently. Background in military or security services providing discipline and situational awareness. Strong conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations calmly and professionally. Excellent report writing abilities to document incidents accurately and thoroughly. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
