Job Description
Position Summary:
The State of Kansas is seeking a Corrections Officer I to provide supervision, maintain safety, and enforce discipline within the Topeka Correctional Facility. This front-line role is critical to the secure, humane, and orderly operation of the facility. As a Corrections Officer I, you will work directly with incarcerated individuals, ensuring compliance with facility rules and safety protocols while supporting a safe environment for staff and residents.Key Responsibilities:
Supervise residents 24/7 to maintain discipline, security, and control. Conduct regular security rounds and monitor behavior to prevent incidents. Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and security breaches per established procedures. Escort residents within and outside facility grounds as needed. Enforce institutional rules and facility policies fairly and consistently. Prepare and maintain accurate reports and documentation. Interact professionally and respectfully with residents, colleagues, and supervisors.Compensation & Benefits:
