The Butler County Detention Facility is an approximately 235 bed facility located in El Dorado, KS. In addition to housing local inmates, the Butler County Detention Facility also provides inmate housing for surrounding counties, US Marshal Service, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Detention Deputy is responsible for the daily management of inmates in a direct supervision environment while maintaining safety and security therein. Duties include, but are not limited to, documenting and maintaining records of inmate activities, addressing inmate requests, performing security checks, identifying and responding to safety/ security concerns, and conflict resolution.

The current salary range is $22.82 to $31.95 hourlyDeputies are eligible for a $1000 bonus upon the successful completion of training and 6 month evaluation, $500 at the completion of 9 months of service, and $500 at the completion of 12 months of service.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
No experience is required, although selected candidates are expected to achieve a level of proficiency within 6 months18 years of age or olderHigh School Diploma or GEDCurrently possess or be able to obtain a valid KS Driver License upon selectionAbility to pass a written test, physical course, background investigation, drug screen and lie detector examCONTACT:
