Corrections Officer/Jailer

Overview The Correctional Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. This position involves supervising inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and inmates. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a commitment to upholding the law, and the ability to manage conflicts effectively. Duties Supervise inmate activities and ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to maintain security and safety standards. Prepare detailed reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities. Manage conflicts among inmates using effective conflict management techniques. Respond to emergencies, including medical situations, utilizing CPR and first aid skills as necessary. Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) to observe inmate behavior and identify potential security threats. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure proper procedures are followed. Maintain accurate records of inmate interactions and incidents for reporting purposes. Experience This position requires a dedicated individual who is prepared to uphold the standards of correctional facility operations while ensuring the safety of all individuals within the environment.
