Position Overview Booking Specialists work in the booking area of the jail and serve as the first point of contact for newly arrested individuals . This role requires professionalism, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a structured environment. The position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage. Key Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Inputting and updating inmate information in jail management software Conducting intake interviews with newly arriving inmates Logging, securing, and maintaining inmate property Receiving, verifying, and documenting inmate funds Scanning, filing, and copying necessary documents Entering charges, bond, and court information into jail software Communicating vital information to other agencies as required Processing and performing inmate releases Running reports and assisting other areas of the jail Supporting court operations with paperwork and documentation Answering booking-area related phone calls, including after hours Completing additional tasks as assigned by the Jailer or designee Qualifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with inmates, staff, and outside agencies Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with office equipment (copiers, scanners, etc.) Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule Schedule & Work Environment Full-time position with rotating 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays required) Work is performed in a secure correctional facility environment
