Detention Officer (Male, Part-time)

Requires successful post-offer completion of a background investigation, physical exam, and drug test (including marijuana/THC) as a condition of employment with the City of Joplin. Primary Purpose Supervises and monitors activities of inmates at the City's jail facility, including the booking and releasing of prisoners, accepting payment of bonds, housing, visitation, and transportation. Ensures security of the facility and safety of staff and inmates. Prevents escapes, controls behavior of inmates, protects inmates from self and others, and protects facility property.
