Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Correction Officer and become a vital part of maintaining safety, security, and order within correctional facilities. In this dynamic role, you will oversee inmate movement, enforce facility rules, and ensure the well-being of staff and inmates alike. Your proactive approach and commitment to security will help create a safe environment for all. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to serve the community while developing valuable skills in law enforcement and conflict management. Duties Monitor inmate activities through CCTV surveillance systems to ensure compliance with facility regulations. Conduct regular patrols within the correctional facility to maintain security and identify potential issues. Respond promptly to incidents or disturbances, utilizing conflict management techniques to de-escalate situations. Enforce rules and regulations by supervising inmate behavior and conducting searches when necessary. Write detailed incident reports, shift logs, and other documentation accurately and thoroughly. Provide first aid or CPR in emergency situations until professional medical assistance arrives. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies as required. Skills Strong understanding of CCTV operations and surveillance techniques for effective monitoring. Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures to handle medical incidents confidently. Experience or background in law enforcement, military service, or security roles that demonstrate discipline and authority. Excellent conflict management skills to handle tense situations calmly and professionally. Ability to write clear, detailed reports that document incidents accurately. Familiarity with security protocols and procedures within correctional environments. Effective communication skills to interact with inmates, staff, visitors, and emergency responders. $19.02 - $19.50 per hour
